School Closure

THE SEATTLE KING COUNTY NAACP BELIEVES THAT THE SEATTLE SCHOOL CLOSURE PLAN WILL HARM THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITES FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR, STUDENTS IN POVERTY AND SPECIAL  NEEDS STUDENTS.

 

 

The Seattle King County NAACP will be assisting individuals with the filing of complaints with the U.S. Department of Education in relation to school closure.

 

If you are seeking help in in completing a U.S. Department of Education Complaint, then come to African American Academy from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 21st.  All people interested in completing a complaint are welcome.  African American Academy is located at 8311 Beacon Avenue South, Seattle WA 98118.

 

You can also receive help in completing U.S. Department of Education Complaints on Monday, February 23rd at our general membership meeting.   All people interested in completing a complaint are welcome.  The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and goes to 8:30 p.m. This meeting is at 105 14th Avenue Suite C, Seattle WA 98122.

If you are a parent or student that believes that you have been discriminated against based upon the school superintendents school closure plan then you can click the link above and file a complaint with the U.S.  Department of education. 

If you file a complaint, it should be filed immediately after the final school closure decision is made.
